Mike & Jess

How may times have you heard of a wedding day starting with a skin lap up and down the local ski hill? For those unfamiliar, a skin lap is when you climb up a mountain with synthetic ‘skins’ on your skis to then ski back down. Mike and Jess not only did a skin lap on the morning of their wedding, but they also convinced a whole crew of friends to come with them- some who were seasoned backcountry skiiers and some who were learning on-the-fly. This is the kind of wedding I love being a part of. The kind of wedding that incorporates the couple’s personality, embraces the unconventional, and brings people together in ways that really connect them.

Beyond the skin lap, this wedding was filled with love between the couple, their family and friends, and their dog, Macintosh. They braved the cold with their outdoor ceremony in the dead of New Hampshire winter- complete with homemade blankets for their guests. They danced the night away to live music from the Alex Anthony Band at the Shovel Handle Pub, and if that wasn’t enough, they got up on Sunday morning and skiied the day away at Black Mountain with all of their people.

Below are some photos from this amazing weekend-long celebration of these two incredible people
